The people of Cooktown have been remembering Cook’s landing in Cooktown for nearly 60 years through the staging of an annual re-enactment and later the Discovery Festival.
From the outset, these celebrations have been a partnership between residents of Guugu Yimithirr and European descent.
And so it is with Cooktown 2020. The delivery of this 48-day Festival will be achieved thanks to the passion and commitment of our people.
